These classic rum based cocktails should help you bring out that inner pirate.

Rum Runner

  • 1 1/2 oz rum
  • 1/2 oz blackberry brandy
  • 1/2 oz creme de banane
  • 4 oz orange juice
  • splash Falernum (grenadine can also be used)

Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake and strain into a hurricane glass.

This can also be prepared as a frozen cocktail by blending all ingredients with 3/4 cup ice.

Dark and Stormy

  • 2 oz Gosling's Black Seal rum.
  • 3 oz ginger beer.

Pour ginger beer into a highball glass with ice.
Slowly add the rum, and stir gently.
The dark rum will represent a "storm" on top of the ginger beer.
Garnish with a lime wedge.

Hurricane

  • 2 oz dark rum.
  • 2 oz light rum.
  • 2 oz passion fruit juice
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • splash grenadine
  • 1 tbsp simple syrup

Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake well and strain into a hurricane glass.
Garnish with a cherry and orange slice.
